Vitacura is one of the nicest residential areas of Santiago with lots of houses and also very safe. Even though you are in an almost 100% residential area full of trees, with nice avenues, good for taking walks (for example in Bicentenario Park), at the same time you are also close to everywhere.
For your information, it will only take you 5 minutes and approx three dollars for a taxi to take you to either the Providencia or Las Condes districts. Same thing if you want to visit the Parque Arauco Shopping Mall or Mundo Spa with its heated pool. If you don’t want to take taxis, you are still only +/-20 minutes walking time from the places I mentioned before.
Vitacura is also close to Avenue Alonso de Cordova with its fashion shops and art galleries, also close to very beautiful Parque Bicentenario, and close to some of the best Chilean restaurants and pubs, like Puerto Fuy, La Mar, Europeo, C, Mestizo, and some fun and cozy places like Le Fournil and Piola pizza.
